Finding Strength in Seasons of Leadership
2min Raed
Hello everyone!
This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Lost and Found Conference hosted by Patria Church in Rancho California. It was truly beautiful being surrounded by so many like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ. With various workshops and moments of reflection, I was reminded that our faith needs continual tending — not just on Sundays.
One theme that deeply resonated with me was leadership and how we navigate the different seasons that come with it.
A quote that stood out to me was:
“For our leaders out there, what you need is friends, not followers — brothers and sisters who can build you up.”
That line hit home. Leading others often requires quiet, unseen effort — the kind of work few ever notice. And when everyone around you is simply a follower, leadership can become an incredibly lonely road. At the end of the day, every leader needs a friend — someone who can stand beside you, make you laugh, and help replenish your energy.
Reflecting on my last semester at Berklee, I held multiple leadership roles and was constantly moving — always doing, always guiding. Now, as I settle into a new season of life here in LA, things look different. I don’t have the same leadership opportunities, and instead, I’m focused on building my community — finding my “group.”
This weekend reminded me that good leadership isn’t about always being in charge — it’s about learning to embrace every season of life. Some seasons call you to lead, while others call you to grow, rest, and reconnect. And both are equally important.
I laid some Guitar on this project! Check it out!
